PENAMPANG: The Administration of the Religion of Islam (Federal Territories) Bill 2013 which was tabled in Parliament last Wednesday has drawn the ire of former UPKO lawmaker, Tan Sri Bernard Dompok.
“I am surprised and disappointed that this Bill has been approved by Cabinet for tabling at Parliament,” he said in a brief statement to the Borneo Insider Saturday.
He added: “The present Bill appears to contravene the Federal Constitution and runs counter to the Government’s transformation plans especially the 1Malaysia concept of acceptance, inclusiveness and moderation.”

KOTA KINABALU, SABTU 29/06/13 - Saudara Abdul Mutalib Mohamed Daud 51, telah menghembuskan nafas yang terakhir lebih-kurang jam 3.00 pagi hari Sabtu di Kota Kinabalu akibat serangan angin ahmar(stroke) dipangkuan isterinya Pn. Sarina Abd. Gani. Sejurus kemudian, pada jam 3.15 petang jenazah Allahyarham telah selamat tiba di Lapangan Terbang Tawau dan telah dibawa ke rumah keluarganya diTaman Warisan, Lahad Datu, Sabah.
Menurut Pn. Sarina Abd Ganih, jenazah Allahyarham Mutalib MD akan disemadikan di Tanah Perkuburan Tabin-Silabukan dekat Lahad Datu pada pagi esok (Ahad, 30/06/13) jam 8.00pagi.
Sesungguhnya dengan pemergian beliau ke Rahmatullah pada hari ini telah menyaksikan hilangnya seorang pejuang negara yang sinonim dengan pendedahan 'IC-Palsu/RCI' di Malaysia dan sangat-sangat dirasai oleh keluarga dan sahabat-handai. Seorang sahabat beliau, Dato' Ahirudin Bin Attan telah menulis tentang berita kematian allahyarham di SINI (Rocky's Bru).

I read with faint amusement Idris Jala’s article which appearead in the June 24, 2013 edition of The Star newspaper. Idris Jala in his article discusses seven issues affecting Malaysia today.

Now in a few articles over the coming days, I will attempt to dissect and expose Idris Jala’s article for the rubbish that it is. I will start off now by tackling the first two issues that appear in his article.

Incidentally if you have not already read Idris Jala’s article, I strongly suggest that you do. It is a shining example of how misleading statistics can be and how politicians can literally get away with murder so long as they deny it strongly enough.

‘Ministers with fake degrees sworn in’

KUALA LUMPUR: DAP today flayed Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak for allowing two Barisan Nasional ministers with “fake degrees” to sit in on the first day of ministerial replies in parliament.

DAP leaders Ong Kiang Ming, Zairil Khir Johari and Julian Tan Kok Ping called for Najib to immediately ask for the resignation of the Human Resources minister Richard Riot, and the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Dr Ewon Ebin.
