BHF Launches UBF Academy to Empower People

Kota Kinabalu:     “It is a timely opportunity to establish the UBF Academy to institutionalize its political, economy consciousness and educational programs that will enlighten and empower the people with the correct history and rights of Sabah and Sarawak in the formation of Malaysia in view of the growing support and calls for Sabah and Sarawak to be restored as equal partners to Malaya in the Federation of Malaya and the restoration of rights and constitutional safeguards that were promised to the Borneo States” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of the Borneo Heritage Foundation (BHF) and founding mentor of the United Borneo Front (UBF) at the launch of “Akademi UBF” in Kota Kinabalu on Thursday.

UBF forgets its carefully selected Dec 16 birthdate !

Ezra Haganez
KOTA KINABALU : Thanks to the report carried by an online news portal, freemalaysiatoday, on the failure to observe the third anniversary of much-talk United Borneo Front (UBF) on Dec 16, some in the NGO, quickly issued statement yesterday and said the anniversary was to be held last night, Dec 20, at the NGO's office in Luyang near ere.

UBF chairman, Jeffrey Kitingan, in a statement said UBF in fact carried out 5,000 Borneo tea parties (BTP) programmes within two years of existence (in contrast with FMT report of not less than 800 tea parties).

‘There was no Sabah referendum’

By Luke Rintod of FMT
Any talks between Malaysia and the Philippines must include
Sabah because only the people of Sabah can decide what
 they want, says Jeffrey Kitingan.
KOTA KINABALU: United Borneo Front (UBF) chairman Jeffrey Kitingan has disputed the context of the 1962 referendum which academics and Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak claim confirmed Sabahans’ desire to be part of Malaysia.

“There has never been a referendum on Sabah as stated by some academics.

“In fact, the so-called referendum in 1962-63 was actually only a sampling survey of less than four percent of the Sabah population,” he said in response to Najib’s comments on Sabah yesterday.

“STAR NOW BIG PARTY IN SABAH”- Dr. Jeffrey

Star Sabah first anniversary
“STAR is no longer a “mosquito” party but a strong and significant political party in Sabah with a big following” said Datuk Dr.Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of STAR SABAH during STAR Sabah’s first anniversary last weekend.

“Compared to PKR which took six to seven years to get about 60,000 members, STAR has attracted 270,000 members within a short span of 12 months” he said.

UN right body on 'internal colonization' dispute in Sabah

By Joe Fernandez
The United National Security Council, acting through its previous 24-nation Decolonization Committee, would be the right body to resolve the renewed controversy in Sabah on whether it and Sarawak, the neighbouring sister state in Borneo, have been effectively colonised by the Federal Government in Putrajaya and/or Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia) since Malaysia on 16 Sept 1963.

The controversy reached its zenith when former Sabah Chief Minister Harris Salleh, a one-time blue-eyed boy of the Federal Government, challenged United Borneo Alliance (UBA) chairman Jeffrey Kitingan in recent days to a public debate on the issue.

Jeffrey brings ‘Ini kali lah’ to KL

Dr Jeffrey Kitingan
By Luke Rintod of FMT
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s political maverick Jeffrey Kitingan is taking his now famous “Borneo Tea-Party” to Kuala Lumpur. He is set to push his “In Kali” (This time) agenda with Sabahans residing and working in Peninsular Malaysia tomorrow.

Hundreds of Sabahans are expected to gather at the KL Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall in Kuala Lumpur to hear founder of the United Borneo Front (UBF) enlighten them on his version of why Malaysia is what it is today and why East Malaysia has been left far behind.

STAR Ups Unity and Takes Penampang and Sepanggar By Storm

“STAR Sabah has forged ahead in adopting the “UNITY IS DUTY” call of the United Borneo Front (UBF) and fostered greater unity and support in seeking the rights and autonomy of Sabah” announced Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of STAR Sabah, in welcoming John Ho, a pioneer of PBS and branch chairman of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Taman Oriental Park, Kapayan, at the launching of the KOKAKOBA fellowship last Sunday, 4th March, in Kapayan, Penampang.

Since 1963 Sabah has lost its autonomy and downgraded from a nation within a nation to one of 13 states in Malaysia and to the extent of being cheated and treated as a colony with a loss of political power with leaders being elected with the help of outsiders.

PM and Umno MP Confirms STAR/UBF Stand

By Dr Jeffrey Kitingan
The Prime Minister’s statement on the oil payment while in Sipitang and the concerns voiced by the Kota Belud Member of Parliament on oil payment and development funds proves and re-affirms the stand by UBF and STAR Sabah that representatives of Peninsular parties and Sabah BN components cannot fight for the rights of Sabah.

The PM’s explanation on the increase of oil payment totally missed the point.

What if Sabah and Sarawak did not agree to form Malaysia in 1963 and today Malaysia (or Malaya) is not entitled to the oil revenues from Sabah and Sarawak? What then for Peninsular states’ development funds without the oil revenues from Sabah and Sarawak?

Borneo Alliance gathers steam

Political observers in Sabah don't believe that a
Borneo Alliance will materalise because local parties
are unlikely to compromise their individual agendas.
By Luke Rintod of FMT

UBF: Petroleum Fund Better than Nothing But Not the Right Solution

Sabah only get 5% share of its oil production
while peninsula getting the most

By Edward Linggu
TAMPARULI: The proposed Petroleum Fund for Sabah suggested by Pakatan Rakyat is not the only right solution for Sabah.

Obviously, the Petroleum Fund is better than nothing under the BN Government, there are better ways to ensure the Government and people of Sabah benefit from its oil resources.

Although there have been reports of new oil and gas finds off the coast of Sabah including its inner waters and the inking of the RM37 billion joint venture by Petronas a few days ago, it has to be remembered that Sabah’s oil and gas resources are a depleting resource.

Ini Kali lah! – Don’t Forego this Opportunity to Save Sabah

“Sabahans must stand united in the coming elections and vote for an alternative government, irrespective of their political ideologies, if they want to SAVE SABAH from further damage and deterioration. Ini Kali lah” reached out Awang Ahmad Sah Datuk Awang Sahari, Deputy Chairman of STAR Sabah.
  • Imagine if the Malaysia Agreement had been complied with!
  • Imagine if the 20-Points were implemented!
  • Imagine if Sabah were in control of its revenue, development funds and tariffs!
  • Imagine if Sabah collects at least RM15-20 billion each year instead of RM3.6 billion”
  • Imagine if Sabah did not give up its oil resources OR got more than the current 5% royalties!
  • Imagine if Sabah were in control of its immigration, borders and security!

MAS’ Action Extending Cabotage Policy To Air–Route

By Rubbin Guribah
The Sabah Homestay community came in support of the Malaysian Association and Travel Agents (Matta) Sabah’s concerns over the MAS’ action to abandon Kota Kinabalu for the second time in recent times as its eastern hub for northeast Asia according to Rubbin Guribah, Coordinator of the Melangkap Homestay.

MAS’ action will seriously damage the Sabah homestay and tourism industry and affect the economic viability of many small and medium homestay operators.
It will reduce the number of tourist arrivals in Sabah and it will definitely hurt the Sabah tourism industry and hurt the homestay operators who rely the tourists arrivals.

“PBS, Upko, PBRS – Are you Protecting Sabah’s Rights?

By Edward Linggu
“PBS, Upko, PBRS! Are you protecting Sabah’s Rights? replied Edward Linggu, Campaign Director of UBF in response to the press reports quoting Dompok, Mositun and Kurup on the launching of STAR Sabah.

Obviously, the people does not think so and rallying to support STAR Sabah as can be seen by the more than 60,000 supporters signing up in less than 3 weeks. Perhaps, PBRS may not even have the same number of committed members.

UBF: Political Ploy By Sabah BN On RCI To Garner Votes Only

By Edward Linggu
Edward Linggu
“Sabahans and patriotic Sabahan leaders need to understand the ploy of Sabah BN led by UMNO, PBS and UPKO on the recent announcement by UMNO Sabah that UMNO Sabah has no objections to the setting up of the RCI on illegal immigrants issue. The play-acting continued with UPKO and PBS rushing to “angkat” their political bosses by heaping praise on UMNO’s statement of no objections” said Edward Linggu, Campaign Director of UBF.

While it is to be complimented the statement that UMNO Sabah has no objections to the RCI, it has to seen in the light of growing ground-swell amongst the people in Sabah in support of the RCI including many Muslim NGOs in recent times as well as the backlash against UMNO and Sabah BN in the forthcoming general elections due anytime soon.

Time For Sabahans To Unite And Be Assertive

“Sabahans, especially Sabahan leaders must stand together irrespective of their political ideologies, when it comes to the common interest of Sabah” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, the Chairman of UBF.

“I am beginning to see this happening on the issue of the RCI and Project IC as well as on illegal immigration.”

UBF ‘agrees’ to back ABU

By Luke Rintod of FMT
LABUAN: The organisors and sponsors of peninsular-based the ‘Anything But Umno’ (ABU) movement, which is calling for the removal of Umno in the next election, are seeking partners in East Malaysia.

Jeffrey calls parties to leave BN and join Borneo Alliance

Jeffrey: Leave BN and join Borneo Alliance
to safeguard Sabah, Sarawak
“The political parties in Sabah and Sarawak need to safeguard and protect the rights and autonomy of the Borneo States as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement.   Therefore, I call upon all the Sabah and Sarawak component parties of Barisan Nasional (BN) to leave BN and join the Borneo Alliance to safeguard Sabah and Sarawak as mooted by UBF” said its founder, Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan to the local BN components in the Borneo States as a follow-up to the announcement of the formation of the Borneo Alliance at the 1st anniversary of UBF last Saturday.

Racial Tension Threats Against RCI Treason and Scandalous

By Awang Ahmad Sah

“The statement by Pekida Sabah head, Akjan, that the proposed Royal Commision of Inquiry (RCI) would cause racial tension among the various ethnic groups in Sabah is not only irresponsible but scandalous, ridiculous and a treason to all genuine Sabahans” replied Awang Ahmad Sah, the Deputy Chairman of UBF.

All ethnic groups in Sabah including local Suluks and Bajaus have been living together and working hand in hand since Independence in 1963 and have even formed the State Government together and shared the power.
