No proof of graft on Musa, says Nazri

KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman has been cleared of allegations of laundering money purportedly linked to Umno.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nazri Aziz said the Attorney-General (Abdul Gani Patail) found “no elements of corruption” from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) probe on the Umno leader.
He said the money was only a “contribution” to the party’s Sabah chapter.
“It is not for the private use of the the chief minister,” he said in a written reply to Batu MP Tian Chua at Parliament today.

KOTA KINABALU: A Swiss investigations into a money-laundering trail with its roots in the rainforests of Sabah is threatening to embarrass Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and his Barisan Nasional coalition government.

Najib who is on a two-day visit to Sabah to bring a fractious state Umno headed by Chief Minister Musa Aman into line ahead of general election, is faced with discomforting international exposure that his government is corrupt to the core.

The timing of Swiss investigations into links between UBS, Switzerland’s biggest bank, and the proceeds from illegal logging in Sabah couldn’t be worse for the premier who is hoping to mollify the state which has increasingly shown signs that it is swinging over to the opposition.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman lost his cool during the State Legislative Assembly sitting yesterday and his outburst may have put Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak in a spot over allegations of money laundering involving a Swiss bank.
Responding to Luyang assemblywoman Melania Chia’s queries regarding the alleged hundreds of million of ringgits in his Swiss bank accounts, Musa said: ” You can ask me… you can even repeat it outside the house. I won’t sue you because I am not worried at all.

KOTA KINABALU: Fear and euphoria reign in Umno Sabah over renewed allegations of money-laundering by Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman. The trail is said to lead from the forests of Sabah to the bank vaults in Hong Kong and on to Switzerland.

Politicians on both sides of the political divide are either rubbing their hands in anticipation or getting ready to edge away from potential trouble that has been floating in the online media for years but has gained new life with further revelations by news portal Sarawak Report (SR).
