Like Anwar, Najib is ignorant about Sabah's autonomy - STAR

Jeffrey Asks if Lahad Datu Standoff a Charade to Scare Voters

Does the government led by BN trying to divert voters attention?
By Junior Fendi
KOTA KINABALU: The State Reform Party suspects that the Barisan Nasional government is trying to gain political mileage from the Lahad Datu standoff, using it to scare the people into voting for the BN in the coming general elections.

“It is even possible that this is an elaborate BN military strategy choreographed to achieve that purpose,” its state chairman, Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan said in a statement. “This new form of fear mongering makes sense knowing BN’s desperation in wanting to hold on to power in the light of the ruling coalition’s lowest level of popularity and support at the moment.”

The present Umno-BN government is illegitimate
and should not be allowed to continue, says
STAR chief Jeffrey Kitingan
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah State Reform Party (STAR) believes that ruling Barisan Nasional has lost the moral right to rule as a legitimate government.
Citing disclosures made in the ongoing RCI on illegal immigrants and the issuance of citizenships to foreigners in Sabah, STAR chief Jeffrey Kitingan said “the present government should not be allowed to continue to rule”.
“From the RCI disclosures, we can see that we have been governed by leaders who would not have been elected if not for illegitimate voters. The present Umno-BN government is illegitimate and should not be allowed to continue. It should be replaced by a non-partisan caretaker government.

Star will move on, says Papar leader

By Baharudin Nayan
PAPAR
: In respond to the claim by former Star head for Papar, Datuk Patrick Sindu, that Papar Star is dissolved, i would like to stress that the majority of grassroots leaders and members in Papar are steadfast in their unity with Star state leadership in regaining our pride and empowering Sabahans.

In Pantai Manis especially, there is no big effect at all from Sindu's departure. If anything, Star strength and support from the people in Pantai Manis is increasing even more by the day as more and more see and understand the earnest strugle and clear direction of Star.

Malaysia Federation has failed

By Dr Jeffrey G. Kitingan
2013 will most likely be the beginning year of Correction, Restoration and Renewal, while 2012 was the peak of Malaysia’s manipulative politics, said political activist and STAR Sabah Chairman, DatukDr. Jeffrey Kitingan.

The Fall of Malaysia as a Federation
Malaysia was envisioned to be a great new Federation when three infant nations (Singapore, North Borneo and Sarawak) were forced by circumstances (due to national security, post-World War II consideration and de-colonization) to be rushed into a merger with Malaya by a 1963 agreement (the Malaysia Agreement) with many pre-conditions.  Under the circumstances, Malaysia was a confusing concept right from the start.

pada lanskap politik negara.
By Luke Rintod of FMT

“Tahun ini akan menjadi tahun pembetulan, perubahan dan pemulihan bagi kita semua, sebab sudah banyak yang salah perlu diperbetulkan,” katanya sambil meramalkan perubahan besar akan berlaku pada lanskap politik negara.
Jeffrey berkata demikian dalam ucapannya sempena sambutan Krismas dan Tahun Baru beliau yang diadakan di Tambunan Village Resort Centre (TVRC) dekat sini semalam.

Prices of goods in Sabah will shoot up with un-remedied minimum wage, says Star

Jalibin Paidi, STAR Divisional Head for Ranau
RANAU :  Consumers in Sabah should expect some unpleasant surprises as the new year sets in with the Government's plan to implement the minimum wage of RM800 per month across the board.

The direct immediate effect of this minimum wage policy, to be in force from January 2013, are an increase of production cost for all employers in the state, already burdened with the highest cost of living in Malaysia.

Please expect increases of prices of goods and services, anything from 20% to even 200% as the employers would definitely pass the cost to consumers at large.

Star slams Bumburing : You are a traitor !

By Daniel John Jambun
Mr Daniel John Jambun is a Deputy Chairman of State Reform
Party (Star) for Sabah Chapter, and also President of
UK-based Borneo's Plight in Malaysia Foundation (BoPi MaFo)
KOTA KINABALU :  The statement by Upko defector Wilfred Mojilip Bumburing in the local media on Tuesday that the Orang Asal, especially the Kadazandusun and Murut, should not pin their hopes on State Reform Party (Star) is patently mischievous, misconceived and misleading.

It should be condemned in no uncertain terms by all right-thinking Sabahans, deplored and exposed as "the mother of all lies" by a political has-been who shamelessly continues to be a stooge of the local proxies of the Malayan masters.

Star will work with ‘any’ coalition that wins

By Luke Rintod of FMT
Jeffrey Kitingan has threatened legal action against those
spreading rumours that his party Star is being financed
by Umno to split the opposition vote.
KOTA KINABALU: If politicians and supporters are holding out for a pre-election pact between the State Reform Party (Star) and the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), they best forget it.
Both parties’ words and actions point to it being a lost cause. But leaders on either side are nonetheless keeping alive the ‘line’ that they are working on a deal which opposition supporters in the state and are hopeful of hammering it out in time.
They have been maneuvering for this since the beginning of the year and if nothing else, their periodic shout outs for a deal has proved they are no closer to it since they first indicated they wanted one.

STAR eyeing across political divide for candidates

In the coming general election, Jeffrey Kitingan's
party is trying to woo BN candidates dropped
by the ruling coalition.
The State Reform Party (STAR), according to the political grapevine, is scouring both sides of the political divide for candidates and partners. The United Borneo Front (UBF), an ad hoc NGO, and the pro tem United Sabah National Organisation (Usno) have already confirmed that they would be jointly fielding candidates in all 60 state seats in Sabah and 26 parliamentary seats including Labuan under the STAR symbol.
STAR is a Borneo-based national party based in Kuching. It may have candidates in Peninsular Malaysia as well if Hindraf Makkal Sakthi, pledged towards a third force in Parliament, uses its symbol and flag as well.

SAPP buoyant about pact with Pakatan

SAPP and Jeffrey Kitingan-led STAR are expected to
discuss 'anytime now' on how they can cooperate
and put up one-to-one fights with BN.
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) president Yong Teck Lee is optimistic about the ongoing negotiations on seat distribution and election preparations between his party and the Pakatan Rakyat coalition.

Yong said talks to work out a deal with local opposition parties that are not under Pakatan’s umbrella grouping had picked up momentum over the past month as general election looms.

He said he welcomed recent statements by PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and deputy president Azmin Ali, which “clearly indicated that they had agreed with SAPP including the principle of burden sharing” (of difficult seats) in the 13th general election”.
