It’s Malay rule, so no difference if BN or Pakatan in power, argues Lee Kuan Yew

Singapore’s first prime minister Lee Kuan Yew (pic) has a sober message for those counting on Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to usher in a new era of race relations in Malaysia: get real.

And the chance of Malay special privileges dismantled by PR in the event that the pact captures Putrajaya? Next to nothing.

To begin with, he said, the chance of the opposition coming to power in the near future was a very long shot. And then there were also the structural problems with the coalition of PAS, DAP and PKR.

TEACH UMNO-BN A LESSON - Anwar tells voters as DAP confirms using PAS, PKR logos

Written by  Wong Choon Mei, Alaa Soleiman, Malaysia Chronicle
Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim called on Chinese voters not to be tricked by Prime Minister Najib Razak's  "dirty politics", accusing the ruling Umno-BN coalition of trying to cheat by making it impossible for the DAP to use its Rocket logo in coming general election.
He also advised the DAP, one of the 3 Opposition parties that make up the Pakatan Rakyat coalition, not to be demoralized but to continue to fight even it if it meant having to contest under the logos of the other 2 Pakatan parties - PKR and PAS.

Don't be dictated by Malayan parties

KOTA KINABALU, April 18, 2013: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) president Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee has accused Pakatan Rakyat (PR) of sabotaging its chances of winning by fielding candidates in constituencies which SAPP is contesting, although PR has little or no influence in these constituencies.

He cited for example, PR is fielding their candidates in such constituencies like Sepanggar, Putatan and Inanam where SAPP candidates are contesting.

Jeffrey wants Orang Asal, Allies as ‘Force to be Reckoned With’ in mainstream politics

By Joe Fernandez
Activists from Sabah strongman Jeffrey Kitingan's various NGOs are mercilessly bludgeoning both sides of the political divide, even mosquito parties, with sledgehammers of sorts. Apparently, Jeffrey is leaving nothing to chance as the countdown to the 13th General Elections is set to begin after the Christmas and New Year festive cheers. This is politics in the jungle at its best.

Jeffrey's inner circle points out that even if the other Opposition and ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) "did not ask for it", they would be "morally obliged to make mincemeat of all those who are against the Agenda Borneo". The Agenda Borneo, in a nutshell, stands against everything that the "agenda parti parti Malaya in Borneo" or "Agenda Malaya" stands for in Sabah and Sarawak. The Borneon in Jeffrey alleges that the Agenda Malaya is a thinly-disguised policy of internal colonisation in Sabah and Sarawak, waged against the Orang Asal in particular -- Murut and Dusun including Kadazan or urban Dusun in Sabah and Dayak in Sarawak -- and Borneons in general.

Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) awaiting approval from Pakatan Rakyat

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Sosialis Malaysia, which is awaiting approval to be a part of the opposition pact, said the matter will not stop it from forming an electoral alliance with DAP, PAS and PKR.
“We verbally voiced our decision to join the opposition pact last June and submitted a formal notice of our intention in September.
“We are still waiting for a response,” PSM secretary-general S. Arutchelvan said at a press conference here yesterday.

SAPP-Pakatan: It just ain’t working out

SAPP president Yong Teck Lee is adamant that
the party must stick to its principle that
a Sabah-based party must take the
majority of the state seats.
KOTA KINABALU: Mistrust and uncertainty within Sabah’s opposition politics could well indeed translate into a free-for-all fight at the coming general election.
Yesterday, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) supreme council met in Likas near here and snippets leaked out indicated that things may not be going too well with its alliance with PKR-led Pakatan Rakyat.
Insider information noted that party president Yong Teck Lee implied that if things don’t work out as it should, then SAPP could well be on a collision course with its newly-found allies PKR and DAP in many seats.

Mengapa perlu ubah kerajaan?

Penulis berkongsi pandangan bersama rakan-rakan di
Facebook mengenai isu penting menjelang PRU-13

By Luke Rintod of FMT
Presiden PAS memohon ampun bagi pihak pemimpin
Semenanjung hingga menyebabkan rakyat Sabah

‘Defection decision won’t help Sabah’

Political maverick Jeffrey Kitingan is disappointed
in Lajim Ukin and Wilfred Bumburing's decision to
align themselves with Pakatan Rakyat.
By Luke Rintod of FMT
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah opposition leader Jeffrey Kitingan has likened Lajim Ukin and Wilfred Bumburing’s decision to align themselves with PKR instead of state-based parties to that of “subconsciously perpetuating a subservient political mentality” in Sabah.
“I would have preferred them to be with me in State Reform Party (STAR) as it is better for us Sabahan leaders to be in our own strength to correct the situation we are in,” he said here.
Bumburing and Lajim had on July 29 officially aligned themselves with Pakatan Rakyat, especially with PKR, in a move many see as a selfish effort to prolong their respective stay in politics.
Both leaders were openly known to be on Barisan Nasional’s drop-list as candidates in the impending general election. Lajim had openly accused Sabah Umno head and Chief Minister Musa Aman of dropping him.

‘We are ready for Putrajaya’

By Luke Rintod of FMT
KOTA BELUD: Pakatan Rakyat is ready to take over the federal government from the long-ruling and corrupt-ridden Barisan Nasional.

Speaking to some 300 locals at a Chinese school hall here last weekend, DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang said even BN leaders know it and they are now afraid of losing power.

“BN is now afraid of us, they dare not dissolve Parliament. They are really afraid of Pakatan… they dare not hold simultaneous ceramah [to compete] with us now.

‘Shadow cabinet’ list backfires in Sabah, S’wak

KUCHING: Pakatan Rakyat’s so-called shadow cabinet has come under fire here with many declaring that it was a ‘reflection’ of how the peninsular-based opposition viewed the state’s importance.

Last week FMT columnist Selena Tay revealed, after speaking to a Pakatan MP who declined to be named, a list of people who formed Pakatan’s shadow cabinet.

Except for two posts – Deputy Prime Minister 3 and at Transport Minister – all positions were swept by peninsular-based Pakatan MPs from DAP, PAS and PKR.

Nizar becomes uninvited guest at Umno ceramah

An Umno ceramah in Kampar, Perak last night witnessed an unusual twist when the main target of the Pakatan Rakyat bashing session - Nizar Jamaluddin - appeared and sat with several Umno leaders.

Nizar, the former Perak menteri besar and most recognisable face of Perak Pakatan, told Malaysiakini today that that the crowd looked rather astonished when he arrived.

Jeffrey to Pakatan, BN: Get out of Sabah

By Luke Rintod of FMT
RANAU: State Reform Party (STAR) Sabah chairman, Jeffrey Kitingan, has again called for all Peninsula-based political parties to get out of Sabah.

The maverick politician urged the opposition Pakatan Rakyat coalition parties – PKR, DAP and PAS – and the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition members – Umno, MCA MIC and Gerakan – to fold up their tents and leave Sabah to Sabahans.

He advised the Peninsula-based opposition parties to instead focus their strength on wresting all the 165 parliamentary seats at stake in the Peninsula and let the opposition here battle it out for the 25 parliamentary seats in Sabah.

Pakatan's march to Putrajaya paved with obstacles

By M Krishnamoorthy
NONEThe road to Putrajaya for Pakatan Rakyat, if it wins the general election, is paved with obstacles - rough and rugged terrain - as Malaysia’s prime minister ponders deeply over some strategies to “defend” Putrajaya.

This was clear after a crucial question went unanswered last week, when Prime Minister Najib Razak officially visited the Royal Selangor Club.

In a speech to the club’s members and others, Najib (left) touched their hearts on some nostalgic and historical anecdotes about his association with the club as a youth when he followed his father, Tun Abdul Razak, on a visit to the club.

Opposition Promises Worrying Bn

By Daniel John Jambun
Do I look worried?
THE PROMISES being made by the opposition leaders are so attractive and reasonable, and the support the opposition is getting from the people is now so strong, that the BN leaders are genuinely worried.

The recent visit by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim this week was even more troublesome for them because Anwar made new additional promises that are causing the people to think again more positively about their future.

‘Don’t be greedy,’ Jeffrey tells Pakatan

By Luke Rintod of FMT
KOTA KINABALU: Newly-installed State Reform Party (Star) Sabah chapter chairman Jeffrey Kitingan has warned Pakatan Rakyat today ‘not to be greedy’ and to focus on their challenges in the peninsular.

He also said that it would not be of any good to Sabah if peninsular-based parties are allowed to “dominate and control” Sabah like what Umno is doing.

“Enough is enough. We cannot depend on outsiders to lead us. Let Pakatan Rakyat parties concentrate in Peninsular. They control already four states, why must control Sabah and Sarawak too? Don’t be too greedy.
