TEACH UMNO-BN A LESSON - Anwar tells voters as DAP confirms using PAS, PKR logos

Written by  Wong Choon Mei, Alaa Soleiman, Malaysia Chronicle
Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim called on Chinese voters not to be tricked by Prime Minister Najib Razak's  "dirty politics", accusing the ruling Umno-BN coalition of trying to cheat by making it impossible for the DAP to use its Rocket logo in coming general election.
He also advised the DAP, one of the 3 Opposition parties that make up the Pakatan Rakyat coalition, not to be demoralized but to continue to fight even it if it meant having to contest under the logos of the other 2 Pakatan parties - PKR and PAS.

of the party leadership hours before nomination day tomorrow.
JOHOR BARU: An emotional DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang today shed tears over the non- recognition of the DAP leadership by the Registrar of Societies (ROS).

“April 18, 2013… has been the most heart-rending day in my life,” Lim said at a press conference, tears streaming down his cheeks as he read out a statement.

Regaining his composure, he added: “It was the day when the Registrar of Societies dispatched a letter to the DAP to knock out the Rocket symbol from the 13th general election.”

Taib’s our ‘chief campaigner’, says opposition

The Barisan Nasional lives on corruption and all PM Najib Tun Razak
can do is to condone such wrong doings, says Sarawak DAP
KUCHING: If Sarawak opposition wins its targeted 16 parliamentary seats in the May 5 general election, it will be due entirely to Chief Minister Taib Mahmud.
Describing Taib as the opposition’s “chief campaigner”, state DAP said “if he does not step down as promised” the likelihood of an opposition win was very high.
In the 2011 state election, allegations of corruption, land grabs and power abuse by Taib and his cronies saw the opposition wrest an unprecedented 15 seats.
Post-election analysis had pointed out a more than 40% swing in voter support for the opposition in the once strong Barisan Nasional frontiers.

Opposition ‘spoilers’ giving Sabah BN quiet wins

By Luke Rintod of FMT
STAR and SAPP have reminded Sabah DAP and Sabahans that
voting for Pakatan would be a case of jumping from the
frying pan into fire situation.
KOTA KINABALU : Opposition parties DAP, SAPP and STAR have a common enemy in Barisan Nasional. Yet they seem unable to hold it together, constantly kniving each other instead of plotting against their enemy.
This in itself is intriguing and is telling of Sabah’s layered opposition politics which runs deep on distrust.
Yesterday, DAP’s sole parliamentarian Hiew King Chew, accused both State Reform Party (STAR) and Sabah Progressive Peoples Party (SAPP) of being “useless” parties that cannot do anything.
“It is a waste to vote STAR or SAPP,” he had said in statement that lumped the two parties as “spoilers” in the 13th general election.

SAPP ticks off Sabah DAP over immigrant issue

Was Sabah DAP shooting blanks when it asked why
former chief minister Yong Teck Lee was silent
over RCI revelations?
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Progressive People’s Party (SAPP) has been a constant “thorn in the flesh” of Sabah Barisan Nasional since 1999 because of its demand that the influx of illegal immigrants in Sabah be investigated.
SAPP Youth said it was because of the party’s persistent demand for a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into the illegal immigrants that ties between the party and BN’s “top leadership” was strained.
SAPP was part of the BN coalition until it pulled out in 2008 after winning four seats.
Chiding state DAP assistant secretary Junz Wong’s ignorance, SAPP Youth Kota Kinabalu zone chief John Stephen Dionysius said: “SAPP has been consistent in demanding for an answer to the threat posed by illegal immigrants.

DAP terus menjaja isu Sabah Merdeka 49 Tahun Janji Ditepati

Oleh: Mail Mathew
TENOM: Kepimpinan Democratic Action Party (DAP) kebangsaan mempertikaikan kejujuran kerajaan Barisan Nasional (BN) berhubung pelaksanaan RCI diSabah dimana kini sudah berlarutan selama 7 bulan namun ianya masih belum bermula meskipun TOR dan ahli ahli telah pun dilantik.

Penasihatnya yang juga merupakan Ahli Parlimen Ipoh Timor Lim Kit Siang berkata demikian dihadapan kira kira 200 orang hadirin semasa program bicara rakyat “Janji ditepati” anjuran DAP Pedalaman diperkarangan ruang tamu mingguan Tenom New Township dekat sini pada Rabu.

Wong files RM150m suit against Sabah govt

Sri Tanjung assemblyman Jimmy Wong alleged that statements
made against him were calculated to make negative
inferences of him and that he is a liar.
KOTA KINABALU: A Sabah state assemblyman has filed a RM150 million suit against the state government and several of its agencies for defamation.

Sri Tanjung assemblyman, Jimmy Wong, named Land and Survey Department director Osman Jamal, the Native Certificate Holders Transfer Committee (NTHTC), State Native Affairs Council, Local Government and Housing Minister and the Sabah state government as the defendants, in that order, in the suit filed yesterday.

Wong, 62, who is also DAP Sabah chief is seeking RM100 million in damages from the first and second defendant and another RM50 million or damages to be assessed by the court as well as punitive damages against all the defendants for unconstitutional actions.

Star: One to one fight ideal, but not necessary

KOTA KINABALU: The State Reform Party (Star) shares the sentiments of the Democratic Action Party (Dap) that the possibility of one-to-one fights in Sabah to take on the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) at the forthcoming 13th General Election is non-existent.

It also agrees with Dap that the Sabah Progressive Party (Sapp) was out of synch with local politics but thinks “it would be kinder not to comment further on an irrelevant party”.

However, Star begs to differ with the Peninsular Malaysia-based national opposition party on why “it’s not possible to strike a deal with the self-glorified and unrealistic Star”.

One Candidate, One Seat’ – Its Democracy, Stupid

By Kua Kia Soong, Director of SUARAM
Karpal Singh, Chairman of the DAP must be commended for his recent call to Pakatan Rakyat to practice a “one candidate, one seat” policy. At last, one leader in Pakatan Rakyat has finally spoken up against this undemocratic practice of the party elite monopolizing federal and state seats … a lion amongst the lambs?
When I criticized this practice a few years ago (Mkini, 18.4.2008), the “seat grabbers” tried to justify the practice by saying they COULD handle both federal and state constituencies: “All you need to do is employ more secretaries to look after the seats for you what,” was their pathetic reply. They failed to see the contradiction and fallacy in this undemocratic practice while criticizing the Barisan Nasional for not carrying out democratic reform.

Najib’s ex-info chief joins DAP

DAP scores a coup with Umno veterans and bloggers, including
former Pulau Manis Umno rep Mohd Ariff Sabri Aziz.
KUALA LUMPUR: Former Pulau Manis Umno assemblyman Mohd Ariff Sabri Aziz and Negeri Umno veteran Aspan Alias (photo) have joined DAP.

Having Ariff on board is a major coup for DAP because he was Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s information chief in his Pekan Umno division up until 2004.

“If you want to know, yes, that is what we are doing (joining DAP).

DAP meet: Leadership spat buries national issues

The Penang DAP convention yesterday barely discussed any issue of state or national interest, for it was overshadowed by arguments over the spat among the party's top leaders.

Several Indian Malaysian delegates who spoke had to be reined in by security personnel as they touched on "very sensitive" issues that had plagued the party over the past week.

"What will happen to Dr. Hiew King Cheu and YB Jimmy Wong of Sabah?

GEORGE TOWN: DAP national chairman Karpal Singh today warned certain party leaders against becoming political warlords by circumventing the leadership to promise and announce seats for their cronies on their own accord.

He said that no party leader or even member has the right to bypass the party top decision-making body, the central executive committee (CEC), to allot seats for their cronies.

DAP needs a lesson on skin colour

By Joe Fernandez
It is interesting that DAP’s Pantai Remis state assemblyman and Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming should use the term “black” recently to refer to Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir. May God have mercy on those black souls responsible for the Perak power grab.

Whites will naturally see Nga’s remark as a case of the pot calling the kettle black. They would probably die laughing at “the freaky blackies making comparisons of their respective skin tones among themselves”. The fact is the whites are the ones who are the real freaks of nature.

‘Cease attacks on SAPP’

Lim Kit Siang has reminded Sabah DAP that their fight
is with Umno-Barisan Nasional not SAPP.
By Michael Kaung
PENAMPANG: DAP strongman Lim Kit Siang has directed party leaders in Sabah to bury the hatchet and stop the on-going war of words with fellow opposition member, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP).
Lim, the DAP adviser, is worried that the quarrel between the party’s state branch and SAPP is distracting them from the real challenge in the 13th general election that could be called by Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak any time now.

Yong's response to Dr Hiew's threats

Referring to YB Dr. Hiew King Cheu, Ph.D, MP for Kota Kinabalu challenging me to contest against him in the Kota Kinabalu parliamentary seat; my response:

In my 26 years in politics, this is my first time to hear anybody in Sabah challenging another person to contest against oneself. Therefore, I am very scared. Dr. Hiew is the most popular, friendly, humble, hard working and clean MP in Malaysia who is loved by the people. He is so strong that nobody can beat him because of his over whelming majority in the 2008 general elections. Even if he uses another symbol instead of the DAP rocket, he will still win and not end up like Dominique Ng Kim Ho of Kuching.

Rude awakening for DAP's rural dreams

IT'S EMPTY….:No one but the organisers and restaurant staff can be seen at the seminar venue.

IT WAS A RUDE awakening for the Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) dreams of penetrating rural areas in the state when not a single person turned up to attend its Dayak Consultative Council (DCC) seminar yesterday.

DAP Hiew's collusion with Sabah Umno

By Datuk Yong Teck Lee

Kota Kinabalu, Tuesday, 11 October 2011 - The guarantee that no Chief Minister can sign away huge tracts of lands, forests and mines to private interests have been put in place on 17 June 1996 when the Sabah Legislative Assembly transferred the Chief Minister's powers to the Cabinet by amending the Sabah Land Ordinance, the Forest Enactment and the Mining Ordinance.

I was the Chief Minister to move the motion to amend the laws which was passed by the Legislative Assembly.

‘Not much difference between DAP and Umno’

United Borneo Front president Jeffrey Kitingan also warns
Sabahans to beware of Barisan Nasional which is bent on
moving towards extremism to perpetuate its hold on power.
KOTA KINABALU: Peninsular-based DAP is bullying local opposition Sabah Progressive party (SAPP) just like how they (including PKR) thumbed Sarawak Nasional Party (SNAP) in the runup to the polls on April 16, said United Borneo Front president Jeffrey Kitingan.

According to Jeffrey, DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang had started on a wrong footing in Sabah with his arrogant attitude and by pitting local (opposition) parties against each other.

Stop the contradicting statements

KOTA KINABALU, September 5, 2011: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) CLC Api Api Women Chief Priscilla Chong urges Junz Wong not to issue any statement which may not be representing the stand of DAP because his statement that Malaysia is 48 years old and not 54 years old is contradicting his party Secretary General Lim Guan Eng's statement.

"Everyone knows that Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman is mistaken to talk of Merdeka 54 years. As we all know, Musa as an Umno man, must follow the Umno stand that Malaysia is 54 years old.
