Doomsday? Relax and think positive

I have been following “Countdown to Apocalypse” in the History Channel in Astro. It’s amazing the many theories and contingency preparations that people have taken as a survival plan for Doomsday.
Many religions, calendars and prophecies point to Dec 21, 2012 as the end of the world. Is this another “Theory of the Apocalypse” that will come and go like others we have seen, or is this one that we should be paying attention to?
This worldwide anxiety was also here in Malaysia. I have people talking about it every day in Facebook, and many of my friends had actually stocked up for the predicted emergencies.

False prophet Harold Camping predicts the world’s end — again

If preacher Harold Camping is right, Jesus will return on May 21, 2011 and the righteous will fly up to heaven, leaving behind only their clothes, USA Today writes.
That will be followed by five months of fire, brimstone and plagues, with millions of people dying each day and corpses piling in the streets. Finally, on Oct. 21, the world ends exactly as the Book of Revelation says it will — with a bottomless pit, a lake of fire and, at last, a new heaven and new earth.

Apocalypse Weekend: Harold Camping Says the World Ends Saturday. He's Said that Before

Julie Baker proselytizes on a New York City
street with others who believe the world
will end on Saturday.
In a comfortable office, Bible placed firmly atop his lap, 89-year-old Harold Camping is preaching with utter certainty about the end of the world. "May 21, 2011, is the day of judgment," he says with conviction, in a YouTube video posted last year. "It is the day that ends all gospel salvation activity ... It is the most important day by a billion times than any other day the world has ever known."
