Ladies & Gentlemen,
Whenever I watch American politics and debates between Obama & Romney I can’t help but compare it to our local politics here in Malaysia.
So as it became clear that Obama had won re-election and the pundits turned their attention to why the republican party lost, I again drew a parallel to local political parties in Malaysia particularly the coming 13th general election.
According to many of the pundits the republican party lost because of their stance on issues such as women rights, immigration and social programs.
As one CNN pundit put it;
this is the last election the republican party could afford to take those positions and still hope to win an election.
The key take away for me was that the republican party cannot do what they’ve always done and expect to win.
I believe that political parties in Malaysia can no longer operate the way they used to and hope that their base of die-hard supporters will bring them the victory.
The voting rakyat has totally changed since the last 4 years. The number of people willing to blindly follow BN dirty politics is declining tremendously. While those expecting good governance, expecting real leadership and see justice prevail are growing.
The game is simple, we vote for the party/governance who will heal our wounds and scares caused by BN government since 50 years ago…. and we meant it. It is not because we love Anuar Ibrahim or enjoy being in the opposition.
Well,...If you think the old way of doing things is going to fly for the next five years, you are in for a rude awaking.
First thing first…there’s one urgent thing we want NOW, What can we do to hold our YB and elected representatives accountable.
Honestly, we've enough of the BN's SHITS for all these years…!!! 13th general election is the best time to end our political miseries.
PM Najib, Muhaydin Yassin or Taib Mahmud, Alfred Jabu, James Masing, William Mawan, Jacob Dungau Sagan and all you womanizer ministers and YB out there……. ….should take note….your dooms day is coming. -- Burak S. Sem
