PR/BN in Sabah, S'wak should be invited to join UBA

By Joe Fernandez
KOTA KINABALU : The PR/BN chapters in Sabah and S'wak should be invited to join UBA on condition that these said chapters will achieve autonomy, if they don't already have, as soon as possible.

To avoid the Sapp kind of about-turns, those signing up with UBA should take a Public Pledge and sign a Memorandum of Understanding with all UBA members.

If the PR/BN chapters concerned do not achieve autonomy within a reasonable period of time, their membership in UBA should be suspended until it's practical to lift it.

Suspension would mean the said PR/BN chapters would only enjoy observer status when UBA meets.

Should the said PR/BN chapters in Sabah and S'wak refuse to sign up with UBA, the matter should be brought before the people directly and indirectly through the Court of Public Opinion.

UBA should remain an ad hoc NGO movement working across the political divide in Malaysia towards a 3rd Force in Parliament.

The following elements comprise the 3rd Force in Parliament: Sabah, S'wak and the following elements in Peninsular M'sia -- Orang Asli, Christians, other minorities, fence-sitters (i.e. neither for BN or PR) and the 67 parliamentary seats in Peninsular M'sia where Indians decide.

    2. INDEPENDENCE NOT AUTONOMY!

DON'T BE FOOLED BY THIS LINE WHICH THE MALAYANS ARE SECRETLY & OPENLY PROMOTING

They are happy to give us nominal autonomy and we have this on paper already.

49 years is enough proof that the Malayans will just ignore our rights.

Furthermore, autonomy will only continue the plunder of our rich resources to develop Malaya and enrich UMNO & cronies at our expense!

      Why continue to be stooges?

Does it may sense when we should be demanding de-colonization?

If we are diverted to working for autonomy the Malayan will achieve their intention to delay the Sabah Sarawak independence demands and to keep them as colonies. Seen in this light the third force is a diversion and a con.

We have been conned into Malaysia and not they want to con us to stay!

  21. All leaders and members of Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties need to uphold the “1BN” principle if they want to win all the 31 parliamentary seats to be contested in the coming 13th general election.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Sarawak BN secretary-general Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi Utom said they should learn from past experience including the loss of a few seats to the opposition in the state elections last year due to the lack of the 1BN spirit and some internal factors within the component parties.

    ReplyDelete
  23. In the opinion of Datuk Dr Stephen, the opposition is not strong in Sarawak but he acknowledged that there are short comings within the Sarawak BN component such as internal problems and overconfidence due to their previous success which must be overcomed in order to achieve total victory in the coming election. He highlighted this in his address to BN Youth members who will be organising a convoy to fly the Jalur Gemilang.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Rundi, who is also Public Utilities Assistant Minister, said BN had the edge in giving confidence to the people, particularly the fence-sitters, based on the performance of the opposition in states they ruled or seats under them.

    ReplyDelete
  25. He said if BN component party members could move as a team and take the “touch one, touch all” approach, then the issue of outside parties claiming to be BN-friendly would not arise.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Of the 31 parliamentary seats in Sarawak, only two seats, Bandar Kuching and Sibu, are held by the opposition.

    ReplyDelete
  27. In the last general election, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) was allocated 14 seats, Parti Rakyat Bersatu Sarawak (SUPP) seven, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) six and Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) four.
